Developing Inner Strength We can't control how other people act, we can only influence how we respond to it. Because of this, it is best to learn how to develop a sense of inner strength - an inner love and well being for yourself, independent of other people's actions. Now, this is easier said than done, because we often (and accidentally) allow our well being to be in the hands of someone else rather than ourself. It is time that we remind ourselves that our well being can come from ourself instead of someone else. Here's how to do this: When you are feeling down because of what someone else decides to do (i.e. a significant other or family member), remind yourself that you only have control over what you think. Choose to think highly of yourself. Remember that you are always doing the best you can with the resources you have.
